Farnborough FC and Bisley FC announce the following changes to the alliance between the clubs.

This summer the Bisley Youth structure will be brought under the umbrella of Farnborough FC, and the ‘elite youth team structure’ will see all the teams play under the name ‘Farnborough FC Surrey’. The facilities at Bisley FC will be utilised by all of the youth teams at the club.

There will be one team in each age group, apart from the U16 section, which will boast two sides. All teams will play in the West Surrey Premier/Premier Elite divisions, and will serve as feeder teams to the two U18 sides. The Farnborough U18 Youth side will play in the Allied Counties division, and the Farnborough U18 Academy side hope to secure a position in the Conference Youth set-up for the next campaign.

Aidan Whelan, the club’s Head of Youth Development, will oversee the new set-up as well as manage the U18 Academy side, and trials for all age groups have already begun. The dates of the trials are as follows.

In addition to the youth team changes, the first team at Bisley, who played their football in Hellenic Division One East last season, will now become Farnborough FC’s reserve side. This will allow any contracted players in the Boro first team to play for the reserves should they need games. The reserve side is likely to be made up of three or four first team players each week, plus the best youth players from the Academy side.

Boro Chairman Simon Hollis said: “It has always been my aim to have a comprehensive youth structure at the club, providing a conveyor belt of talent feeding into our first team.

“We certainly have some exceptionally talented players within our youth set-up, and it is down to us as a club to ensure that these players make the next step into the senior Farnborough first team and beyond.”
